為確保我國勞工與產業安全，中央主管機關自民國99年，已公告新安裝或換裝之防爆電氣設備(防爆燈具、防爆電動機、防爆開關箱) ，自民國101年起須使用經認可公告之機構實施型式認證合格品。民國104年依據「職業安全衛生法」，勞動部更逐步推動防爆電氣設備安全資訊登錄源頭管制措施。隨國內檢定制度之落實，相關產業已漸體認防爆電氣安全之重要性，逐步提升國內相關事業單位對於合格防爆電氣設備之使用率，國內防爆電氣設備產製者亦透過檢定制度，確保產品防爆性能，並提升產製能力與水準。 
有鑑於近來國內相關產業對於防爆安全議題之重視，勞動部職業安全衛生署委託財團法人工業技術研究院辦理「電氣防爆驗證體系國際論壇」，論壇中將邀請IECEx組織、國外主要防爆電氣檢驗機構等專家學者來台與會交流，針對各區域電氣防爆標準、國際電工防爆驗證體系(IECEx System)以及國際上主要區域驗證體系之發展近況等議題進行專題介紹。期望透過最新的訊息與產業動態交流，除了安全議題訴求外，亦能發揮促進國內、外產製者拓展市場管道與利基之瞭解，裨益國內防爆電氣檢驗制度與國際接軌，進一步全面達成我國職業安全政策。

Since 2010, Ministry of Labor (MOL, formerly the Council of Labor Affairs) has announced the mandatory type-test approval certification schemes for Ex equipment in the categories of rotating machines, luminaires and switch panels used in hazardous areas from the year 2012. For source management of such machinery, equipment and tools, where the regulations governing the registration of safety information has further been implemented with the promulgation of Occupational Safety and Health Act in 2014. The implementation of the certification and registration schemes has facilitated the correct selection and use of certified Ex equipment in the industries, and the domestic Ex equipment providers also benefit from such schemes to further enhance their product quality and manufacturing capabilities in regards to explosion-protection.

Coordinated by MOL, this international forum is hosted by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Ministry of Labor. The forum will invite important experts and specialists from IECEx, certification and accreditation institute representatives for dedicated sessions regarding topics of interests including:

• Introduction to IECEx System
• Technical aspects of constructional requirement and testing for Ex equipment
• Comprehensive comparisons between IEC Standards and other regional standards
• Current status of regional standard harmonization to IEC Standards
• Connecting nationwide IECEx experiences

The goal of this forum aims at emphasizing industrial safety for explosion protection, as well as promoting more possibilities in global market by adopting IECEx System or the equivalent. The knowledge, suggestions, and consensus communicated on the forum will also become important basis in formulating future occupational safety and health policies in Taiwan
